Believe it or not 50% [at least] of all traffic right now is bots...
these usually originate from Russia, China & the Ukraine - check your own stats, you'll see for yourself.
it's not only useless traffic to you [not real visitors], it also slows down your sites
A. for real visitors = putting them off with slow page load times
B. for search engines = hurting your rankings, costing you free traffic
