Dear rosi I've Just Read The Backlink Bible If you’ve been a member of BlogPiG for a while you’ll know I very rarely send out product reviews.![f4e82041-75ff-4ebb-a805-a090c0edfc06[1]](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/blogger_img_proxy/AEn0k_sgGoShMA7sKvJ1vnpLxMnIdN2dIhLcNLYBxssEVvOcCNRY9d8WDb6rUSbjbkjebV59_IX_PnX0SsludfTw0KNwGD7njvkKos3riNKGpVtVP-2TF6YW7XYLB_iwsidT2sFgjXbVCP_-=s0-d) In fact this is only the 2nd time (I think) that I’ve mentioned a product outside of the BlogPiG stables. (I know PiGs shouldn’t live in stables!) The main reason for this is simply because most products out there suck so why would I recommend them to you? But there are exceptions and this is certainly one of those rare exceptions. I’ve just finished reading an amazing ebook called the Ultimate Link Building Dossier from Duncan Carver. Read more and buy the book here. I know Duncan from way back, we were both members of a private IM forum called “Nothing Held Back” which did what it said on the tin (it’s now closed). Duncan quickly established himself as one of the leading lights in link building community and he has gone from strength to strength ever since. In his Link Building Dossier Duncan brings together over 10 years of accumulated link building knowledge into one simple guide. This 200 page book encapsulated almost everything I know and use about link building and added a lot more besides. Here are a few of the highlights: - Why 95% of your working day should be spent building links or generating traffic
- Why on-page SEO is all but irrelevant
- How to market every article or post you’ve ever written to 30+ VIDEO sites
- Why you need to automate to succees in the numbers game
- Proof that you cannot get too many links too quickly
- Why directory submission isn’t dead
- How to market in forums without posting
- Why EVERY backlink is good link but some are a LOT better than others
It really is very, very good stuff. If there is only one product you’re going to buy this year then please make it this one. I really mean that and I’m probably going to regret saying this next bit… Even if you’re already saving up to buy one of MY products, STOP. Use that money to buy this guide instead. You will never get more bang for your buck… - Part 1 covers the link building fundamentals, it will be a real eye opener for some of you, it was for me and I’ve been in this game for +10 years.
- Part 2 covers the link building techniques themselves, it’s ALL in here, nothing is missed.
- Part 3 helps you build your new found knowledge into a workable strategy for your sites.
It’s really nice to finally read a guide from someone who agrees with the advice I’ve been handing out on a regular basis to the BlogPiG members I’ve chatted to. You need to “stop sweating the small stuff!” By which I mean themes, layouts, colours, merchant selection, meta, keyword density etc. Just get a site up of sufficient quality as quickly as possible. Now focus on getting traffic to this site above everything else. This of course means getting backlinks. Feel free to build another site quickly and efficiently in another niche and focus on getting links to that too. Repeat as often as possible until you reach maximum capacity. I strongly believe that getting traffic i.e. backlinks should be 80-90% of your time, with the remainder spend on site building, on page SEO, design, content etc. This is completely the opposite to how most people do it and how I used to do it. Duncan goes a step further and advises you spend 95% of your time on backlinks! I won’t disagree. The trouble with tweaking on-site stuff at the start of a project is that you have no idea what works. You’re flying blind as there is no (or not enough) traffic to get real feedback on your tweak’s effectiveness. Once you get a site (or network) to a few hundred visitors you can then begin to make changes, try new themes, layouts, different sponsors etc. and you will know if the change is beneficial as the raw data (CTR) will tell you. This is also why I have designed the BlogPiG products to be very quick and efficient to use. My plugins help you quickly and efficiently get a site up and running by leveraging – datafeeds, tag analysis, 3rd party comments etc. They are all as close too being completely automated as possible leaving you as much time as you need to go and get new backlinks. We’ve not focused our plugins on automating the backlink process so far. This book has changed that. I’m pleases to say our first backlink automation plugin (SocialPiG) is currently in beta testing and the next wave of plugins released by BlogPiG will now ALL be backlink focused. In the meantime please read Duncan’s Ultimate Link Building Guide and please spend your time (and your money) where it matters most.
